Timeline of significant dates in the Joanne Ringer investigation:

September 2015: Charles "Chad" Reidy and Joanne "Jo" Ringer meet at a Northampton AutoZone and exchange numbers.

March 27, 2016: Reidy and Ringer go on their first date: Easter brunch at Wiggins Tavern in Northampton.

July 2016: Ringer introduces her daughter, Savanah, to Reidy. Savanah later told police Reidy seemed nice.

Oct. 14: Reidy and Ringer move into their home on Halls Ground Road in Clarksburg.

Nov. 5: Ringer tells a friend about her "heartache." "I'm dying everywhere but physically at the moment," she wrote.

Nov. 8: Ringer accuses Reidy of threatening to kill the ducks and chickens on the couple's property. "Things have escalated here, and it's not safe," she wrote to a friend.

Dec. 13: Reidy and Ringer are married in a civil ceremony in Bennington, Vt.

Dec. 23: Reidy allegedly assaults Ringer and holds a gun to her head, prompting her to leave home and stay with a friend in Easthampton for a couple of days. During that stay, she says, "If anything ever happens to me, don't underestimate Chad, because it was probably him."

January 2017: Ringer confides in friends that she is "looking for a way out" of her relationship with Reidy.

Feb. 15: A friend tells Ringer she will have a safe place to stay in a few months. Ringer said she wasn't sure she would survive that long.

Feb. 27: Ringer's friend, Ginger Plantier, spends a few hours scrapbooking with her in Clarksburg. The two discuss plans to take a trip to Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut.

March 2: Ringer is expected to begin her first shift driving a cab in Easthampton. She never arrives for that shift.

March 4: Reidy reports his wife missing and is interviewed by Clarksburg Police and Massachusetts State Police.

March 6: A tip to police leads to Ringer's abandoned car in Easthampton.

March 7: Police interview Reidy's former girlfriend, Laura Reilly. She allegedly gives false information regarding the whereabouts of herself and Reidy in the days after Ringer's disappearance.

March 16: Police install a GPS tracking device on Reidy's vehicle.

March 18: The GPS device fails after the battery runs out of power.

March 24: A second GPS device is attached to Reidy's vehicle.

April 7: Reidy is found dead in the garage of the Clarksburg home. His death is ruled a suicide via carbon monoxide poisoning. No note is found.

April 21: Reilly is arraigned in Northern Berkshire District Court and enters not guilty pleas to three counts of misleading police.

Late May: Reilly is indicted by a Berkshire grand jury on the same three counts of misleading a police officer, and her case is transferred to Superior Court.

June 12: Reilly is arraigned in Berkshire Superior Court and enters not guilty pleas to her charges. Her attorney insists that Reilly has nothing to do with Ringer's disappearance.

Jan. 15, 2018: Ringer would have turned 40.

Jan. 23: During a pretrial hearing in Reilly's case, a tentative September 2018 trial date is announced.

Feb. 27: Human remains are discovered in Hatfield.

March 1: The remains are identified as those of Joanne Ringer.
