Search warrant leads to arrest of two on drugs and weapon charges; fugitive from Pennsylvania

PITTSFIELD — Police arrested three men on Wednesday during service of a search warrant— including a fugitive from Pennsylvania.

"He was next door," lead Detective Marc Strout told The Eagle.

Members of the Pittsfield Police Narcotics and Anti-Crime Units and the Berkshire County Drug Task Force executed a warrant on Students Lane in Pittsfield at 10 a.m.

Police arrested Kareem King, 22, and Derrick King, 39, both of Pittsfield, on one count each of possession with intent to distribute of a Class A drug, heroin; possession with intent to distribute of a Class B drug, cocaine; possession of ammunition without a firearms identification card; and one count each of conspiracy to violate drug laws.

The two men were also charged with four counts each of unlawful possession of, improper storage of a firearm during the commission of a felony. The charges were related to the three 9-mm pistols and one 12-gauge shotgun found in the home.

Also swept up in the raid was Charles Davis, 35, arrested on a fugitive from justice warrant from Pennsylvania.

Strout would not go into further detail about how Davis ended up in custody, nor could he tell The Eagle what Davis' original crime was.

"We were in the middle of serving the warrant," he said.

All defendants will be arraigned Thursday in Central Berkshire District Court. Davis will face extradition to Pennsylvania.
