Roundup: Wahconah, Hoosac Valley lead their divisions in latest Walker football ratings
Wahconah (5-0), one of three undefeated teams in Western Massachusetts, is ranked No. 1 in Division VII. Hoosac Valley (5-0), also unbeaten, is the top-ranked team in Division VIII.
The top four teams in each division advance to the Western Massachusetts playoffs, which begin next month.
In Division VII, Wahconah has a Walker rating of 119.21, safely ahead of No. 2 Frontier (4-1) at 104.07. Monument Mountain (3-1) is ranked third at 91.40, while Palmer (3-2) is fourth at 85.32.
In Division VIII, Hoosac's Walker score is 125.70, with Mount Greylock (4-1) second at 104.12. Here's where it gets tighter, because undefeated Ware (5-0) is third with a Walker of 100.21, Greenfield (3-2) is fourth at 96.82, Lee (4-1) is fifth at 92.78, while Pioneer Valley (4-1) is sixth at 80.37.

DALTON — Mike Kays beat Nate Dos Santos by one stroke, and that proved to be the difference in a one-stroke win that propelled the Braves into the Western Massachusetts Division I Tournament field.
Kays shot a 42 on the front nine at Wahconah Country Club on Tuesday, and Dos Santos shot a 43.
"That was the difference in the match," said Wahconah coach Pete Terpak, whose team still needs to beat either Mount Greylock or Lee to qualify for the Division II tournament. "We'll stay positive."

GREAT BARRINGTON — The match at Wyantenuck Country Club was deadlocked after the four scoring golfers had their cards added up.
It came down to the fifth scores, and Mount Everett's Colby Stevens beat Monument Mountain's Matthew Iemolini by one stroke.
The Spartans' Max Joyner was medalist with a 41. He had a birdie on the third hole.

LENOX — At Cranwell, Brendan Hayden shot a 4-over-par 39 to earn medalist honor for victorious Lenox (8-4).
"Brendan is becoming much more consistent," said Lenox coach Dick Salinetti. "For an eighth grader, I'm very impressed."
Hayden was the only golfer on either team to crack 40.

LENOX — The Millionaires scored a 25-4, 25-17, 25-6 win over visiting Taconic.
For Lenox (10-1), Kristen Miller had three kills and two digs, Kayanna Black had three kills, two digs and a block, while Katie Colvin had seven kills two aces and two blocks.
Lee 3, Pittsfield 1
PITTSFIELD — Host Pittsfield gave Lee a tough time, but in the end, the Wildcats emerged victorious. The set scores were 26-28, 25-11, 25-6, 25-23.
"The big thing was," Pittsfield coach Brian Lawton said, "we got tense in the second game and we let it get to us."
For Lee, Suriana Lee had 28 assists, Lydia Morawiec had 11 kills, Bailey Thomas had 13 kills and seven aces while Anna Wang had 24 digs.
Pittsfield's Kamea Quetti had 11 kills, Aimee Boulais had seven kills and four digs, Brennah Brickle had 25 assists, while Anna Quinto had three kills and two blocks.
