Northern Berkshire Community Coalition's March forum, "Stress, Anxiety and School," will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, in Room 121 of the MCLA Science Center, at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, North Adams. This forum will be presented by the teenagers of the UNITY Youth Leadership Program, and will offer insight into: the stress and anxiety inherent to the daily experiences of high schoolers; potential ways to alleviate stressors; and proven methods of stress reduction for young people facing various expectations and demands. The organizers of the Friendship Center Food Pantry are asking people who plan to attend the forum to please bring a non-perishable food item for donation to the pantry. Girls Inc. of the Berkshires is offering $10,000 in scholarships to senior girls attending high school in Berkshire County and entering a two or four year college in the fall. The Ruth P. Boraski Funds for Girls Inc. of the Berkshires has underwritten $6,000, and Zonta Club of Berkshire County has provided $1,000 in general scholarship funds. Berkshire Community College Foundation will offer $1,000, and the applicant must attend BCC. Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts is also offering $1,000, and the applicant must plan to attend MCLA. Rotary Club of Pittsfield will offer $1,000 to applicants who lives in Pittsfield.

Applications must be postmarked by this Friday, March 24, and are available in high school guidance offices; at the Gladys Allen Brigham Community Center, 165 East St., Pittsfield; online at BrighamCenter.org or by contacting Bethany Kirchmann at bethanyk@brighamcenter.org.

The Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center will present at 10 a.m. on Thursday, the family-friendly "Erth's Dinosaur Zoo Live." Audience members will observe, meet, and interact with a collection of amazingly life-like dinosaurs and other creatures presented in a theatrical performance that entertains children while stimulating their imaginations. Tickets are $6 for students with school groups (recommended for ages 5 and up) and $10 per person for the general public. School groups should contact Judy Reinauer at education@mahaiwe.org. Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts' Green Living Series is focused on "Science and Management of Invasive Species." Next up, at 7 p.m. on Thursday, is "From House Sparrows to Mute Swans: The Invasive Birds of Massachusetts," with Andrew Vitz, of the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife, in room 121 of the college's Center for Science and Innovation in North Adams.
