Applications for Rent-A-Center Inc.'s Make-A-Difference Scholarship Program will be accepted online until midnight on Feb. 1. The program is administered through a partnership with Scholarship America, and will award 60 high school and undergraduate college students across the country a total of $60,000 in scholarship funds. Applicants must from a Rent-A-Center franchise customer or employee household. Scholarship beneficiaries must pursue their first undergraduate degree at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, vocational school or technical school in the United States or Puerto Rico. Recipients will be announced in April 2018 and awarded their scholarships in August. Apply at www.rentacenter.com/scholarships.

Ventfort Hall Mansion and Gilded Age Museum, 104 Walker St., in Lenox, will host puppeteer Carl Sprague and his presentations of his marionette show, "The Emperor's New Clothes" at 3:30 p.m. this Thursday and Saturday. General admission is $15 per adult, $7 per child ages 4 to 12; free for children age 3 and under. After each show, audience members will have the opportunity to meet the performer and enjoy holiday refreshments. Children must be accompanied by adults. The Norman Rockwell Museum, 9 Glendale Road (Route 183), Stockbridge, will host two special programs this week. Today through Friday, from 1 to 4 p.m. daily, children and families can check out the "December School Vacation Week Drop-In Art Programs: Flights of Fancy." Design fantasy characters and environments, build fairy houses, and explore the art of Tony DiTerlizzi and Norman Rockwell.

On Saturday, also from 1 to 4 p.m., the museum offers, "Family Day! Inside the Spiderwick Chronicles." Celebrate the world of "The Spiderwick Chronicles" book series, and enjoy a talk, drawing demonstration, and book signing with authors Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black.

Flying Deer Nature Center will host a "Snowy Owl Vacation Camp" on Thursday and Friday, for youth ages 7 to 12 years old. Campers will learn how to safely kindle fires and cook food; learn techniques for survival and comfort in the woods; track animals, and watch the winter flocks of birds forage in the forest and fields. There will be two locations, one in Sheffield and one in New Lebanon, N.Y., and the sessions will run between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tuition is $110.
