Pittsfield: Berkshire Humane Society plans 25th birthday bash

Berkshire Humane Society will celebrate its 25th birthday on Sunday, Oct. 22, with a special event at the Colonial Theatre, 111 South St. Steve Caporizzo, chief meteorologist for News10, host of "Pet Connection," and animal advocate, will host the event.

Since 1992, BHS has sheltered and rehomed some 50,000 animals.

The bash begins at noon with a catered brunch. There will be magic by illusionist Carl Seiger, a birthday cake and toast, and thank you bags filled with local goods.

The special presentation begins at 2 p.m. with doors to the theater opening at 1:30 p.m. The presentation will feature more Seiger magic, a live Pet Connection with Caporizzo, the unveiling of BHS's 25th anniversary video by Great Sky Media, and appearances by dogs, Humane Heroes, and other special guests.

Coffee and pastries will be served before the presentation.

Brunch and presentation tickets cost $125. Presentation only tickets cost $20 in advance, $25 at the door. Purchase tickets at BerkshireTheatreGroup.org, 413-997-4444, or by visiting the Colonial box office.
