Hillary Clinton: U.S. did not 'deserve' Trump

Hillary Clinton told an audience in India that the United States did not "deserve" Donald Trump's presidency and these are "perilous times."

The 2016 Democratic presidential candidate spoke over the weekend at India Today Conclave 2018, in Mumbai.

Clinton said the Republican president has "quite an affinity for dictators" and said Trump "really likes their authoritarian posturing and behavior." But she said she thinks it's "more than that" with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russia.

Clinton was critical of Trump's reality campaign tactics and questioned whether she should have provided more entertainment to voters who responded to Trump's brash style.

She also believes former FBI director James Comey's Oct. 28, 2016, letter to Congress about her private email server cost her support from white women voters.

The White House didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.

Fired FBI director to appear on 'The View'

NEW YORK (AP) — Fired FBI Director James Comey is scheduled to appear on ABC's "The View."

Host Whoopi Goldberg on Tuesday announced that Comey will participate in his first daytime talk show interview on April 18. Goldberg says they'll have a lot to talk about.

The appearance will come after an April 15 interview on the network's "20/20" program before Comey's book, "A Higher Loyalty," is released.

Republican President Donald Trump fired Comey last May. Comey has since made his personal feelings about Trump known, testifying in detail about personal interactions he says troubled him.

Ventures bassist-guitarist dead at 82

A longtime member of the "surf rock" pioneers the Ventures has died.

Bassist-guitarist Nokie Edwards died at age 82. Ryan Greenblatt, who works on booking for the Ventures in North America and Europe, did not immediately have further details.

The Ventures were an instrumental group founded in Seattle in the late 1950s by guitarists Bob Bogle and Don Wilson. Edwards joined soon after. They helped create the twangy surf sound that influenced the Beach Boys among others. Edwards played bass on the Ventures' 1960 hit "Walk, Don't Run" and had switched to guitar when they recorded what became the theme for the TV show "Hawaii Five-O." The Ventures sold millions of records and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008.

Today's birthdays: Actor Judd Hirsch is 83. Singer Mike Love of the Beach Boys is 77. Singer Dee Snider of Twisted Sister is 63. Model Fabio is 57. Musician of Black Eyed Peas is 43. Bassist Ethan Mentzer of The Click Five is 35. Actor Kellan Lutz (The "Twilight" films) is 33.
