Letter: Shuffleton painting belongs at Rockwell

To the editor:

I think the painting Shuffleton's Barber Shop should be given to the Norman Rockwell Museum. I applaud Berkshire Museum's plans for a science museum, but this painting is meant for many millions to see.

I have seen people with lined, wizened faces who spent so long to save up enough money to board a bus and come cross country. They stood in line to be able to stand in front of this painting, which so fully and devotedly gives us a deep understanding of a man's life.

Elna Nugent,

Lenox
