Letter: Lee caucus failed to be democratic

To the editor:

Like Mr. Dalheim (letter, April 11), I too voted in and was disappointed by the Lee Democratic Caucus.

That caucus was held on remarkably short notice. And that notice consisted of: 1. A posting on the Town of Lee website (handy if one knew to look for it, but how would one?); and 2. A printed notice posted in the Town Hall. There was no newspaper announcement. There was no direct notice to registered Democrats; not by telephone, mail, text, or email.

It certainly gave the feeling of being a private, by invitation only, affair. Surely the Lee Democratic Caucus, in 2017, could find a way to be more transparent and inclusive.

Harold F. Sherman, M.D.,
