Lenox: Choirs to present MLK sing-along

The Cantilena Chamber Choir will present a Martin Luther King weekend Psalms and Spirituals open sing at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, at Trinity Church, 88 Walker St.

Special guests include the Price Zion AME Church Adult and Junior Choirs from Pittsfield, and community activist Shirley Edgerton.

King will be remembered in poems and speeches, but the focus of the program will be a spiritual sing-along with the choirs. The choirs will also perform works by themselves by Andre Thomas, Raymond Wise Alice Parker. All words and music will be provided.

Edgerton will speak on the Martin Luther King message, "Living in perilous times: Love can drive out darkness."

Admission is free of charge with a suggested donation of $15 per ticket.

This concert is part of a weekend of events sponsored by the Northern Berkshire Community Coalition.
