NORTH ADAMS — Matthew Miller has been hired as the first full-time executive director of Hoosic River Revival, the organization has announced. The group has received leadership from its all volunteer board of directors for the last nine years.

Miller is an environmental executive with over 30 years experience in the field of natural resource conservation and environmental education.

He has served as executive director of the Arkansas Ozark National Science Center and the Living River Environmental Center in Alabama, and as state director of conservation programs for the Mississippi Chapter of the Nature Conservancy. With the Nature Conservancy, Miller was responsible for the administration of a 1,500-acre wetland mitigation bank and a historic river restoration project, which both involved close collaboration with the United States Army Corps of Engineers, state environmental agencies, and local communities.
