High school roundup: Pittsfield boys lacrosse tops Taconic
It was 4-2 after one quarter, but the Generals (2-4, 1-2 Berkshire League) pulled away and took an 11-2 lead at halftime.
Markie Perras had six goals to lead Pittsfield and Kevin Quinto had five goals. Taconic (0-4, 0-2) was paced by two goals from Sal Amaral.

WILLIAMSTOWN — Mount Greylock (5-0) maintained its perfect record, but it wasn't easy. The Mounties outscored visiting Westfield 6-2 in the fourth quarter to pick up the win.
A goal by Westfield's Matt Bonsall with 8:41 left in the fourth quarter gave the Bombers an 11-9 lead. The Mounties responded, scoring the final four goals of the game.
Pat Storie got a hat trick on a goal with 5:38 left, which broke a tie and gave the Mounties the victory.
Storie and Reilly Parker each had hat tricks for the Mounties.

LEE — Meryl Phair had a whale of an afternoon, helping Lee even its record at 2-2.
Phair scored seven goals and had two assists as the Wildcats (2-2) defeated Chicopee Comp.
The Colts scored the first two goals of the game, but Lee answered with six straight scores and never trailed again.
Lauren Kinne had four goals for Lee and Emma Bartini had three. Kathleen Brooks had four goals to pace Chicopee Comp.

DALTON — Emmy Cote scored her team's first two goals and three of the first four as Wahconah (2-1) rolled to a non-league win over Belchertown.
Cote finished with five goals and three assists while Kenna McIlquham had four goals and two assists for the Warriors. Olivia Hines had a hat trick, while Jordan Budaj had two goals and two assists.
Morgan Methuan led Belchertown with three goals.

Aubrey Rumbolt added five goals for the Hurricanes (3-1, 2-1 Berkshire League) while Alexis Desroches added two assists.
For Pittsfield (0-3, 0-3), five different girls scored.

Mount Everett 9, Lenox 2
SHEFFIELD — Anthony Lupiani pitched five strong innings in the rain and Mount Everett took advantage of nine Lenox errors to earn a win.
"It was a miserable day to throw the baseball," Everett coach Jesse Carpenter said. "He found a way to throw strikes. A real key was us making [defensive] plays."
The Eagles (4-2, 3-2 South Division) made only two errors, but Carpenter said neither was costly.
Lenox (1-1, 0-1) led 1-0 after a half an inning, but Cavan Brady's two-run double was the key hit in Everett's three-run first inning, as they took the lead for keeps.
Nick VandeBogart had a two-run single in Everett's four-run sixth inning.

KINGSTON — Pittsfield hit the road for a vacation-week doubleheader at Silver Lake.
The Generals came home on the short end of the twin bill, dropping 12-8 and 4-3 decisions.
In the first game, Giuliana Pierce gave up 12 runs (8 earned) on 16 hits. The Generals never led in the opener, but had a chance to tie the game in the bottom of the seventh inning.
The Generals got RBI singles by Erin Murphy and Pierce and a sacrifice fly by Madison Tobin, but the Generals could not produce another run.
Madison Tobin hit a 3-run home run in the first inning. Hayley Tobin went 4 for 4 with two runs scored, while Murphy had three hits.
In the nightcap, Pittsfield was the road team and fell behind 4-0. The Generals (2-2) got a two-run single from Pierce and an RBI double by Madison Tobin to make it 4-3.
The Generals threatened in the top of the seventh. With one out, Alex Desrochers and Brianna Clary hit back-to-back singles. Britney Perkett sacrificed the runners up, but Natasha Shade grounded to the pitcher to end the threat, and the game.
Pittsfield managed six hits in the second game. Pierce held Silver Lake to six hits as well. Pierce gave up four runs, but two of them were earned.
