Community Forum- Facing a New Year and a Changing World Together
The recent election season exposed deep and hidden rifts within our nation and our local communities. Inflammatory speech about race, gender, sexuality, immigrants, class difference, and elitism, and an insensitivity to those who felt left behind arouse danger and fear in many parts of the country. Where do we go from here? How can we work together as a community to increase our care for our children, understand the hidden needs of our neighbors, and speak about our concerns with one another?
The Erikson Institute of the Austen Riggs Center offers a space to gather as a community to understand how the changing political and social context affects individuals, groups, and organizations in our local area. Finding a way to build partnerships and work together for the common good may be one way to move forward together. We invite community leaders and citizens to come have a conversation together.
