College roundup: MCLA women's lacrosse picks up 21-3 victory

NORTH ADAMS — Mackenzie Cutler scored five goals and added two assists for the MCLA women's lacrosse team in its 21-3 victory over Green Mountain on Saturday.

Kim Granito added four goals and an assist for the Trailblazers (2-2) while Natalie Caney and Courtney Gabrus each contributed a hat trick.

MCLA led 14-2 at halftime. For Green Mountain (0-1), Rachel Aramburu registered two goals.

Williams women 14, Connecticut College 8

WILLIAMSTOWN — Emma Tenbarge scored five goals for Williams in its victory over Connecticut College.

Kara Wollmers and Jenna Chodos each added a hat trick for the Ephs (2-1, 1-1 NESCAC). Williams jumped out to a 5-1 lead, but needed a Tenbarge goal with 57 seconds remaining in the first half to send the game into the break tied at 6.

After Tina Balzotti (hat trick) gave Conn. College (0-3, 0-2) a 7-6 advantage early in the second half, Williams scored eight consecutive goals to put the game away.

Williams men 16, Connecticut College 13

NEW LONDON, Conn. — Heading into the final frame tied 11-11, two goals from Brendan Hoffman and one each from Michael Fahey and Maxwell Stukalin put Williams up 15-12 with 8:59 remaining.

Fahey and John Hincks each scored four times and added two assists for the Ephs (3-0, 2-0 NESCAC) while Hoffman recorded a hat trick.

For Conn. College (3-2, 0-2), which led 3-2 after one and 9-8 at halftime, Jordan Foster had a hat trick.
