PITTSFIELD — Police and fire department personnel descended on a city home early Wednesday after a 33-year-old man suffered severe injuries when a large firework exploded in his hand, according to Pittsfield police. Witnesses reported hearing a "loud bang" from 38 View St. about 7:45 a.m., police said. The injured man, a Pittsfield resident, was transported to Berkshire Medical Center for treatment. more
